Build the Future of Computing.
Spatial Computing is the future of how we'll interact with computers & computing devices. Northstar provides a way forward that allows the user to control, own, and operate that future by creating an open source hardware & software platform.

The Project Northstar Foundation was founded in April 2022 by Bryan Chris Brown & Noah Zerkin. The Foundation serves as a way to provide funding for the development of open source spatial computing hardware and software.
Our aim is to carry forth the excitement and energy first created by leap motion’s Project Northstar headset & mirror worlds concepts and provide the infrastructure for those projects, and others, to grow. -Bryan Chris Brown

Spatial computing is much more than just optics, to properly interact with digital objects you need hand tracking, object tracking, position tracking, spatial mapping, plane detection… We could go on, but think you get the idea. These technologies combined together are what make spatial computing possible.
Our goal with the Project Northstar Foundation is to generate funding to build this infrastructure, allowing as many folks as possible to access the hardware needed to build & experience spatial computing.
Spatial Computing is a puzzle, and will take more than just us to solve these problems. We'll need to work with companies, people and other organizations to make this work possible.
With all that said, we hope you find this work valuable as well, all the funds that go into the foundation will be used to further this goal, and our budget & expenditures will be open and transparent.
You can help fund our work here, and if you're an organization or company that wants to work with us, please contact us.
